Enactus UniZulu Alumnus Sibusiso Nkosi Selected for UK Exchange Programme

Final-year University of Zululand student and Enactus alumnus Sibusiso Nkosi has been selected for a prestigious international teacher exchange programme with the University of the West of England, gaining valuable global experience in education.

Enactus South Africa proudly celebrates the achievements of Sibusiso Nkosi, an Enactus alumnus from the University of Zululand, who has been selected to participate in an international teacher exchange programme between the University of Zululand (UNIZULU) and the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) in the United Kingdom. Currently in his final year of a Bachelor of Education degree, Sibusiso was selected in April 2026 from a competitive pool of applicants to participate in the ongoing project, "Envisioning Internationalization in the Previously Disadvantaged University: Reviving 21st-Century Pre-Service Teachers." Established in 2022, the initiative is a collaborative partnership between UNIZULU and UWE Bristol that aims to prepare future educators for the demands of 21st-century classrooms through global engagement, intercultural learning, and innovative teaching practices. The programme provides aspiring teachers with the opportunity to gain international exposure by engaging with diverse educational environments, inclusive teaching approaches, and collaborative learning experiences. While students from UWE Bristol have previously travelled to South Africa to work alongside UNIZULU students and local schools, the exchange now offers South African pre-service teachers the opportunity to experience education in the United Kingdom firsthand. During his time at the University of Zululand, Sibusiso was actively involved in Enactus, where he developed a passion for social impact, innovation, and servant leadership. His experience with Enactus complemented his academic journey by strengthening his commitment to using education as a tool for positive change within communities. Reflecting on his selection, Sibusiso said: "As a student from a historically disadvantaged institution, being part of this exchange affirms that talent and dedication can transcend borders. Although I have not yet undertaken the journey, I look forward to returning home equipped with new perspectives, innovative teaching strategies, and a renewed commitment to creating inclusive, dynamic classrooms that empower learners and contribute meaningfully to the transformation of education in South Africa." His selection is a testament to his dedication, academic excellence, and passion for education. It also highlights the opportunities available to students who are committed to making a meaningful difference in their communities and beyond. Enactus South Africa congratulates Sibusiso on this remarkable achievement and wishes him every success as he embarks on this exciting international journey. We look forward to seeing the knowledge, skills, and global perspectives he will bring back to South Africa and the impact he will continue to make as a future educator.
