The 2025 Schneider Electric Energy Transition Battery Innovation Enactus Challenge is a multi-phase competition aimed at empowering youth in South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zimbabwe to innovate in battery technology and energy transition solutions. The program, running over 6+ months, includes recruitment, theoretical and practical training on battery technologies, circular economy, and design thinking, and culminates in a final round where top teams will present their low-carbon battery projects to Schneider Electric executives. Teams of 4-8 members, including at least three engineering students, will engage 200 youths, ages 14-35, from local communities or schools to create impactful, sustainable energy solutions. Participants will compete for grants and recognition, with the top 10 teams advancing through various phases, including project development and impact evaluation.
