HRA Transportation is a youth-led social enterprise owned by Enactus University of the Witwatersrand students, the Enactus South Africa National Champions.
The initiative addresses the growing need for affordable moving, storage, and refrigeration solutions among students and young professionals. Built as a digital, student-first platform, HRA Transportation operates at less than half the cost of traditional movers and storage providers while maintaining high service quality. Since its launch, the enterprise has assisted over 200 moving clients and 25 fridge rentals, generating more than R355,000 in revenue. The project has created part-time jobs for seven student workers earning up to R4,300 per month and provided steady income for two local drivers, achieving a 94% client satisfaction rate. Through these efforts, HRA Transportation not only delivers cost-effective services but also empowers students with practical work experience and supports local economic opportunities, demonstrating the power of student-led innovation to solve pressing social and economic challenges.
